Take the guesswork out of getting fit & healthy

This article is taken from the eBook ‘The Percent-Σdge Journey’ and is part 3 in a series of 6.

Your unique genetic code

Genetic predisposition is the term given to the increased risk of developing a particular disease based on your genetic makeup, resulting from a specific genetic variation, or spelling mistake, in your DNA.

These spelling mistakes contribute to the development of a disease but do not directly cause it. Some people with these genetic variations may never get the disease while others will, even within the same family and this can be influenced by your lifestyle and environment.

Lower your risk factor

This is why we say that “your genes load the gun, but it is your lifestyle that pulls the trigger”. The programs we offer at Percent-Σdge include our Nutrigenetic DNA test, which can highlight your genetic predispositions to diseases that affect your heart, brain, eyes, joints & bones, to name but a few.

This enables you to make lifestyle adjustments that mean you may be able to dodge that genetic bullet. It is time to take the guesswork out of getting fit and healthy.

Cleanse yourself

How good will you feel taking world-class supplementation that will rebalance your gut-microbiome, perform a cellular level detox and provide a significant boost to both your circulation and cognition?

Expand your mind with access to an extensive online educational library and subject-matter expert articles on Nutrition, Self-Development, Exercise, Business Hacks and more.

More than 2,000 years ago, Hippocrates — the father of modern medicine — suggested that all disease begins in the gut. Though Hippocrates was incorrect in suggesting that all disease begins in your gut, evidence shows that many chronic metabolic diseases do.

Balance

Having the right balance is critical for optimal health, as our Microbiome affects so many aspects of our lives. For example our mood – are you aware that 90% of the Serotonin, a.k.a. The Happy Hormone is manufactured in your gut?

Your hormones

Perhaps you have trouble sleeping? That could be due to a shortage of Melatonin, the Darkness Hormone which encourages good sleep – again produced in the gut. We will touch on stress and burn-out later in this talk, but suffice to say that Dopamine, the Motivation Hormone, Oxytocin, which looks after Love, trust and Self-esteem and Noradrenaline which gives you your “Get up and Go” are ALL produced in the Gut – when it is in the right balance.

Your microbiome is key to your health

Add to that food craving, weight management, digestion and metabolism, brain health, fertility and many other things – you can see how important having a balanced Gut Microbiome is.

Let us imagine that you have just moved house and your Gut is the Garden in your new house. It needs bringing back to its best – the previous owner didn’t really spend a lot of time looking after it. Would you like to know how you can get that garden looking back to its best?
